Her Story

Born in Minnesota, resident of Hawaii for 40 years and now resident of Asheville North Carolina.

Lynn Marie started as a watercolor artist, using her skill to capture the beauty of the Big Island of Hawaii. She soon progressed into oils and painting en plein air. A French term for painting in plain air on location, learning to see values and color from life. Encouraged by many mentors in the local Hawaiian art community: Trey Surtees, Yuko Green, Henry Wishard, Richard Mortemer, Patrick Ching, and Robert Thomas. Commissioned to paint works from: the endangered green sea turtles, humpback whales that migrate to Hawaii’s warmer waters to birth their young, to architectural pieces used for advertising, and pet portraiture.

Shown at: Genesis Gallery, Nohea Gallery, Waipio Valley Arts in Hawaii. And now Twigs & Leaves Gallery in Waynesville NC. Commissioned works for: King Shops Waikoloa Resort, the Hawaii Southern Baptist Association Women’s Ministry Retreat, Kona Diamond Company and several private collectors.

Now residing in the Asheville area of North Carolina, her current works in acrylic capture endearing bears, beautiful vista’s on the Blue Ridge Parkway and iconic destinations such as the Biltmore Estate. With a life long passion for paint and tourism to merge and capture memories that last a lifetime.
