Based on an amazing vista where you can see for miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway just after the Stack Rock parking area on the way to Blowing Rock NC. This area takes my breath away. I’ve Plein air painted there and will again. The beauty of the parkway cannot be overstated. Even after the fall leaves have dropped, it still has stunning views to take in. Spring time with the wild flowers lining the road ways, the sunrise and clouds that dance in the distance, even a rain shower that caught up to me one day along the road with my easel. It never gets old.
My hope with this painting is that you’ll never get tired of looking at the view, and seeing the vast expanse of the mountain range in the distance while the soft breeze makes the flowers of the hillside dance and birds glide in the air.
